of the band. Slide the band to adjust

its length and find an appropriate

hole. Place the pin into the hole.

４）Fasten the buckle with pressing the

push buttons.

Notes on the battery

(1) Battery life

When a new normal battery is installed, the watch will operate for approximately 10 years.

＊If the watch is used in the following conditions, however, the battery life may be less than the specified period.



1. When the crown is left at the first or second click for a long time

2. When the calendar is checked frequently

3. When the watch is left in a temperature below +5℃ or above +35℃ for a long time

(2) Monitor battery

The battery in your watch is inserted at the factory to check the function and performance

of the watch, and its actual life may be less than the specified period.

(3) Battery life indicator function

When the second hand starts moving at two-second intervals, the watch may run down in

about two weeks. In that case, please take your watch to a retailer from whom the watch

was purchased as soon as possible to replace the battery with a new one.



＊The time accuracy is not affected even if the second hand is moving at two-second intervals. The date will not

change while this happens, but this is not a malfunction.

＊If the watch is left in low temperatures for a long time, the performance of the battery deteriorates temporarily. As a

result, the second hand starts moving at two-second intervals and the date will not change even when the battery

has energy to power the watch.

When the watch returns to the normal temperature range between 5℃ and 35℃, the second hand resumes the

normal one-second interval movement and the date adjusts itself within one day as the battery recovers the normal

performance.

If the two-second interval movement persists and the date will not change in the normal temperature range, the

battery nears its end, and replace it with a new one as soon as possible.

lift to open the clasp.

２）To adjust : Pull the pins out of the

adjustment holes on the band. Slide

the band to the appropriate length.

(4) Battery replacement

1. The perpetual calendar controls the date display on the basis of the calendar data

recorded in a built-in IC.

When the battery runs down, the calendar data is retained by the auxiliary power supply,

and normally, it is not necessary to correct the calendar data after battery change. If the

watch is left untouched for a long time with a dead battery, however, the energy of the

auxiliary power supply may also be depleted. It is recommended, therefore, that the

battery be replaced with a new one as soon as you find the second hand moving at two-

second intervals.

For battery replacement, be sure to have the battery replaced with a new one by the

retailer from whom the watch is purchased or at an authorized SEIKO DEALER, and

requesting the battery replacement, please specify the genuine SEIKO SB battery.

3. If the old battery is left in the watch for a long time, a malfunction may be caused due to

battery leakage, etc. Have it replaced with a new one as soon as possible.

4. Battery replacement will be made at cost even within the guarantee period.

Once the case back is opened for battery replacement or other purposes, the original

water resistant quality designed for the watch may deteriorate when it is closed. When

you have the battery replaced with a new one, also request the water resistance test

pertaining to the water resistant quality of your watch. If your watch has 10-bar or higher

water resistant quality, be sure to have such test performed on the watch every time the

battery is replaced.

Please note that it takes several days to check the water resistant quality of your watch.

When requesting the checking, therefore, please check the period required for it. 

＊After the battery is replaced with a new one, check the calendar, referring to "How to check the calendar"
