Chapter 1 Getting started
· Taped or glued original
· Original with poor straightness at the top
· Original such as photo that easily sticks to the glass
· Original written with a pencil that may soil the glass by being rubbed
In addition, use a carrier sheet if non-fixed size original is to be read in the
fixed size.
Unacceptable originals
The use of the following originals may cause a paper jam or damage to
the original.
· Originals other than those mentioned in “Acceptable original size and
thickness” ( page 1-12)
· Stapled or clipped original
· Torn, ripped, or holed original
· Wrinkled or torn original
· Curled or waved original
· Folded original
· Original with 2 or more sheets pasted, or overlapped original
· Surface-treated originals such as thermal paper, art paper, silver
paper, carbon paper, and conductive paper
· Original with protrusion such as an index and tag
· Thin and soft original (such as a register)
· Bound original (such as a book)
· Wet original or sticky original
· Original having partially different thicknesses
· Taped or glued original
· Original with a thick sheet pasted at the top
· Original on which the ink or correction fluid has not dried yet
· Original with the carbon attached
· Originals other than paper (PCBs, glass products, metallic products,
etc.)
