Changing the Iron Tip (RS-L & RS-P):

1) Switch off the robot power (highly recommended) or switch off the Heater

in MANU mode by pressing the HEATER button in the teach pendant.

2) Wait until the Iron tip is at room temperature (approx. 3 minutes).

3) Spray some Flux remover where the iron tip meets the cartridge holder.

This will help to loosen the flux residue which built at the iron tip and the

iron tip cartridge.

4) Pull the Iron tip out from the cartridge along the same angle of the iron

cartridge. The iron tip should be easy to pull out after apply the flux

remover. Remember don’t twists or turn the iron tip. If the iron tip is still

difficult to pull out from cartridge, repeat step number 4.

5) After removing the iron tip, use flux remover to clean the internal

cartridge with a cotton swab. (Clean only 1/3 depth into the iron tip

cartridge, do not spray flux remover into the iron tip cartridge)

6) Select the correct iron tip DCS/DCN, check for the locator key and 4

sharp connecting points at the back of iron tip. If the iron tip is missing the

locator key, please do not use.

7) Put the new iron tip into the iron tip cartridge, first push the iron tip into

the end and feel the locator position, then apply a small pressure to push

the iron tip into the snap grip.

8) Turn on the robot power or switch ON from MANU mode by pressing the

Heater button on the teach pendant.

9) The display panel will show the temperature increase and iron tip will

heat up to the set temperature.
